TrackMan Technology

Explanation
When most people refer to a launch monitor they think of a simple unit that tells them how fast they have swung and how far the ball went. Trackman is a breath of fresh air to a club fitter for the fact that they can showcase a plethora of factual fitting information to the person being fitted. Until recently most launch monitors could only estimate a short amount of the ball flight. Trackman’s ball tracking technology acts like a missile tracking system following the ball from impact until it hits the ground. Trackman is quickly becoming the most trusted name in the fitting industry as the USGA and many major manufacturers rely heavily on its technology. Besides being able to track the golf ball accurately Trackman also collects important information such as launch angle, ball speed, spin rate, attack angle and angle of descent. The last two pieces of information mentioned are becoming quite important in providing the customer with a proper fit and this information is only available via Trackman technology.
Practical Use
Because Trackman is far more than just a launch monitor this leads to a new realm of possibilities for this device. Until now launch monitors have only been used to fit drivers, mostly because they couldn’t capture accurate iron and wedge information. Now we can properly capture flight data for almost every single club in your bag. Below are some of the ways that TopGolf Fitting utilizes Trackman on a daily basis:
- Trackman Driver Fitting
- Trackman Long Game Fitting
- Trackman Iron Fitting
- Trackman Wedge Fitting
- Trackman Ball Fitting
- Trackman Full Bag Fitting
TopGolf Fitting has also found TrackMan to be an extremely useful everyday practice tool that can capture a vast amount of information. Because of this we have the following opportunities available to our customers:
- Short Game Practice Sessions
- High School/College Practice Sessions
- Trackman Bag Analysis
Making Something Great, Better
Through extensively reviewing Trackman data we have collected it has come to our attention that the type of golf ball used in a fitting makes an enormous difference. Because of this fact we are now integrating premium golf balls into our normal fitting and practice sessions. We also try to fit in our temperature controlled teaching bays. Furthermore we are utilizing our teaching software (JC Video) to show the client the reason for their particular ball flight. We want our clients to understand why they hit the shots they do and why we fit them for their exact specifications. Going through a club fitting session at TopGolf is more than just a fitting. It’s a realization that you can become a better golfer when you have the right tools in your bag. It doesn’t matter what type of golfer you are as long as your clubs fit your swing.
TrackMan Reports
Because TrackMan can provide up to 18 different informational aspects from every single golf shot, you would think it could be easy to lose sight of what you’re looking for in all of this information. Luckily the people at TrackMan have developed an extremely user-friendly interface that can produce comparison reports in seconds flat! The more information you provide TrackMan during your session helps TrackMan give you better organized fitting and practice reports after your done with your session.
